Carbon markets can play an critical role in compensating for emissions that will remain difficult to eliminate from sectors like heavy industry, aviation, and agriculture. However, these markets face important credibility challenges, such as concerns around transparency, measurement accuracy, additionality and the risk of double counting. The second part of the event will focus on how financial institutions and market infrastructure providers support the development of carbon markets.
Carbonfuture will explain how digital infrastructure contribute to increasing trust in the carbon removal markets at scale.
UBS will share the perspective of a global financial institution on the role of carbon markets in corporate transition strategies.
